My 9 year old granddaughter participated in the cultural festival at school and presented Norway. I contributed by making 50 waffles and 200 krumkakes using your recipe. Filled them with whipped cream. The kids loved them and many came for seconds

Either they aren’t being “baked” long enough and/or they are too thick.

For some reason the last two times I made these they ended up soggy not crisp. I followed directions exactly. Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong? I loved these when I made them in past

Zoe, I loved this episode! Although I’m not Norwegian, the Scandinavian countries really speak to me. And your grandmother’s pin is gorgeous–what a treasure! I think you would love the book “Bakeland” by Brit Hovland. She is an artist who has turned her skills to baking and makes beautiful and delicious treats inspired by nature–for example, cookies that look like the sky or birch bark.

Love this!! I was inspired to explore my Norwegian heritage after watching you. I bought the Krumkake maker and made them last year – they were delicious!! I’m making them again this holiday season.
Did you have some sort of whipped filling that you piped into these on the show?

Your above Krumkake recipe mentions adding the cinnamon, cardamom and ginger twice. Is this a typo? Do you add these spices to the egg/sugar mixture or in the medium bowl of flour/cornstarch?
