Hi Irene! There could be a couple reasons for this. Were your eggs room temperature? If they are cold when you use them it can cause the brownies to take longer to fully cook. Secondly, did you use a tester and check for moist crumbs? That will be the best way to know they're ready to be removed from the oven. Zoë also notes that if you'd like a cakier brownie, you can bake them a few more minutes (about 45) and the tester should come out with dry crumbs. I hope this helps for next time!

I used this recipe from the cookbook and am kind of confused. I baked for 37 minutes and they looked cooked. Hi Winny, you can use brown sugar, but it will change the flavor slightly. If you use a different size pan, you just need to be careful not to overbake since the batter will be thinner or under bake if your batter is thicker. Please let us know how it goes!

LOVE this recipe! Just made half the recipe (3 eggs) in a 9-inch square pan. I left it as the basic recipe with no toppings but I think I'll try a few fun toppings next time. I didn't have room temperature eggs, so I just put them in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes before using them to get the chill out. Worked perfectly!

Hi Zoe and team, I made the brownies this morning but I added a little bit of coffee in warm water along with the cocoa powder.. I didn't have the right size tin so used 2 smaller tins and they took well over an hour to make but I think maybe because of the tins being too deep maybe and over filled or my oven. But they looked absolutely divine and I took them to work and my co workers and myself just had them on coffee break and they went down a storm, even those that for some reason don't like Brownies said they were delicious. My daughter just so happens to be the brownie Queen in our house and she pinched 1 and is going to make them for her college class too. A real fudgy and chocolatey brownie that is going to be a frequent bake in our kitchen.. Thank you

Hi Aidan, I double checked with Zoë and these weights are correct. Zoe always uses weights to develop her recipes and then the TV network or publisher translates them into cups based on their style sheet. Depending on the publisher or TV network, ingredient weights can differ a bit. In this case, the recipe was developed for Magnolia Network. I hope this helps! If you do make the recipe, please come back to let us know how it went!
