Instead, we always have a family celebration and I bake whatever kind of cake the birthday girl/boy desires. My almost eleven year old daughter seems to have a sophisticated palate and each successive year her cake request reflects her growing appreciation for delicious food. This year she asked for something with coconut, pecans, chocolate, and caramel. I immediately started searching for German chocolate cake recipes, yet none seem to fit the bill. Then I stumbled on your coconut caramel cake–PERFECTION! Here’s my dilemma–I need to make this one gluten free. Can you help point me in the right direction?! Thanks so much!
